Contact the Veteran's Adminstration and Ft. Logan National Cemetery to notify them the death has occurred.
- Make arrangement for burial, and make requests for outer burial containers.
- Provide the V.A. with information to provide a permanent headstone.
- Arrange for Military Honors that are provided by the United States
Armed Forces.
- Obtain a United States flag from the Veteran's Administration and arrange
for presentation thru the branch of service the Veteran is connected.
- Determine if the Veteran is entitled to any burial benefits thru the
V.A, then make application for those benefits and either apply them towards
the cost of the funeral or forward them to the survivor(s).
- Send verification to the V.A. requesting a memorial certificate, signed by the President of the United States, bearing the Veteran's name. This certificate is then given to the family of the veteran and is suitable for framing.
